Rx pickup, signature and FSA/HSA: planned, not built

These are the Rx-counter features the pharmacy edition is being built for. None of them is available. Here is what each will do, what it needs first, and what we will not claim.

1Status today

Status today, in two numbers

Zero Rx features are live. Three are planned. Until they ship, keep every prescription task in your pharmacy management system.

2Planned feature

Rx pickup: what it will do

Planned

A pickup queue at the counter: ready bags listed by patient name or bin, found in seconds, rung up with the copay from the pharmacy system.

What it needs first

  • A PMS integration that sends ready prescriptions and copays
  • HIPAA safeguards, because pickup data is protected health information
  • A Business Associate Agreement you can review

What we will not claim

We will not show a pickup queue built from manually typed prescription data.

3Planned feature

Signature capture: what it will do

Planned

A signature on a pad or screen at pickup, stored with the pickup record for counselling offers and controlled-substance logs where your rules require it.

What it needs first

  • Supported signature pads (to be listed when tested)
  • Secure storage of the signature with the pickup record
  • Retention rules per market

What we will not claim

We will not claim that a signature stored here meets a specific board or DEA requirement until that has been reviewed.

4Planned feature

FSA / HSA (IIAS): what it will do

Planned

For US pharmacies: eligible items flagged from the SIGIS Eligible Product List, the eligible subtotal sent to the processor, and itemised receipts kept for audits.

What it needs first

  • A processor that supports IIAS transactions
  • SIGIS membership and certification work through that processor
  • Itemised receipt retention (IRS: 5 years)

What we will not claim

We will never claim IIAS certification on the product's behalf. It runs through certified processors only.

5Order of work

The order we will build in, and why

Integration first, safeguards second, counter features third. A pickup queue without a PMS link would mean re-typing prescriptions; a signature without safeguards would mean storing PHI unprotected.

  1. PMS integration — so prescription data arrives from the system of record, not from a keyboard.
  2. HIPAA safeguards + BAA — access control, audit logging, encryption, breach process, a contract you can review.
  3. Rx pickup and signature — on top of the above.
  4. FSA/HSA — with an IIAS-capable processor, for US stores.

6Questions

Questions about the planned Rx features

When will Rx pickup be available?

Planned

There is no date. It depends on the PMS integration and the HIPAA safeguards, and we will not publish a date we cannot keep.

Full answerHide full answer

Waitlist members hear first when a test build exists, and each build comes with a plain list of what it can and cannot do.

Which pharmacy systems will you integrate with?

Planned

Not decided. The waitlist asks which system you use, and the first integrations follow what waitlist pharmacies run.

Full answerHide full answer

We will name a system only once an integration is built and documented.

Will you sign a Business Associate Agreement?

Planned

Only when the pharmacy edition handles PHI and the safeguards behind a BAA are in place. Not before.

Is IIAS the same as the 90% Rule?

No. IIAS flags eligible items at the POS; the 90% Rule lets a pharmacy accept FSA/HRA cards if at least 90% of its sales are eligible, without item-level flagging.

Full answerHide full answer

Both run through SIGIS and your processor. Under the 90% Rule the merchant re-attests every year. Details in our IIAS vs 90% Rule explainer, with sources.

Will signature capture work with my existing pad?

Planned

We do not know yet. Supported pads will be listed when they have been tested.

Are these features planned for the UAE and Pakistan too?

Planned

Pickup and signature are planned for all three markets; FSA/HSA is US-only because the accounts exist only in the US.

Full answerHide full answer

Pharmacy rules in the UAE (DHA, DoH, MOHAP) and Pakistan (DRAP and provinces) differ from the US, so each market gets its own review before release.

Can I test the planned features?

Planned

Waitlist pharmacies are invited to test builds with dummy data first. No real patient data is used in testing.

Why publish features that do not exist?

So you can tell us what matters before we build it, and so nobody mistakes the front-store POS for a dispensing system.

What will Rx Ready cost?

Indicative founding prices are on the waitlist page, per market. Nothing is charged until the features exist and you choose to buy.
