Checkout, loyalty and gifts that bring the regulars back

Reward points, gift cards, split payments and a clean end-of-day count — the parts of a front register that make a neighbourhood pharmacy feel like one.

1At the register

What a front-store sale looks like

Scan the items, pick or add the customer, apply points or a discount, take payment in one or several methods, and print or skip the receipt. Most sales take a few seconds.

  1. Scan products (or search by name) — variations and lots are picked automatically or by staff.
  2. Select the customer to earn or redeem points and apply their price group.
  3. Choose payment: cash, card on your processor's terminal, gift card, points, or a split.
  4. Print the receipt in the customer's language, or finish without one.

2Loyalty

How reward points work

You set three numbers: how much spend earns one point, what one point is worth when redeemed, and when points expire. The register does the rest and prints the balance.

Worked example (your numbers will differ)

  • Rule: every 1 unit of currency spent earns 1 point; 100 points are worth 1 unit off.
  • A customer spends 40 → earns 40 points.
  • After a few visits they have 520 points → they can take 5 off the next basket.
  • Unused points expire after the period you set.

3Payments by market

Payment methods by market

Cash and cards (through your own processor) everywhere; Apple Pay is common in the UAE; JazzCash, Easypaisa and bank transfer are common in Pakistan. The POS records each as a payment method.

5Questions

Checkout, loyalty and gift-card questions

Does it have a loyalty program?

Works today

Yes. Reward points are earned on sales and redeemed at the register, with the earning and redemption rates set by you.

Full answerHide full answer

You decide how much spend earns a point, what a point is worth, a minimum order for redemption and when points expire. Customers see their balance on the receipt.

Can I sell and accept gift cards?

Works today

Yes. Gift cards are sold like a product and redeemed through a custom payment method at the register.

Full answerHide full answer

Keep a simple record of card numbers and balances; ask on your waitlist call how other stores set it up. Gift cards are not FSA/HSA-eligible tender.

Can one sale be paid with cash and a card?

Works today

Yes. Split a payment across cash, card, gift card and points in any combination.

Which card processors work with it?

Card payments run on your processor's own terminal; the POS records the payment type and amount. Ask on your waitlist call about specific processors.

Full answerHide full answer

We do not process cards and do not claim PCI certification. Your processor and terminal handle card data, which keeps it out of the POS.

Can I accept FSA/HSA cards at the front register?

Planned

Not through this POS yet. FSA/HSA support is planned and will only run through certified processors.

See IIAS vs the 90% Rule for what that requires.

Can receipts print in Spanish, Arabic or Urdu?

Works today

Yes. Receipts and the interface can run in the shop's language, including right-to-left scripts.

Full answerHide full answer

Is there an end-of-day cash count?

Works today

Yes. Each register is opened with a float and closed with a count; the register report shows sales by payment method and any difference.

Can I keep customer details for loyalty without health data?

Works today

Yes, and you should. Store name, phone and points only. Never store prescriptions or health details in customer notes.

The pharmacy edition does not handle protected health information. Train staff to keep notes retail-only.
